Can community members borrow library materials?

Answer

Community members, faculty, and students can borrow materials using their campus ID, current driver's license, or other government issued ID.

Community Member Borrowing Privileges

  • District residents 18 years of age and older may obtain a resident card by doing one of the following:
    • Pay $10 for a 6-month membership. Must present a valid government issued ID with proof of current address.
    • Join the Friends of the Library with a tax-deductible donation of $20 per year.
  • District residents 65 years of age and older may obtain a life-time resident card for free by presenting a valid government issued ID with proof of current address.
  • 4 items can be checked out at a time.
  • Books, CDs, and DVDs check out for 28 days.
    • Periodicals and Reserves items cannot be checked out by community members.
  • Items can be renewed 1 time so long as there are no holds on the item.
  • Off-campus database access is not available for community members.
  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is only available to current students, faculty, and staff.
  • Community Users who wish to use Library computers must obtain a username and password from Student Technical Support. You may access computers within a few minutes of creating an account.
